Discover Blue Hits London

At the Bluetooth SIG, we talk a lot about how Bluetooth® technology opens up more possibilities for companies and developers to build an accessible and interoperable Internet of Things (IoT). Which is why it’s always exciting when our Discover Blue media events roll around and we actually get to see and play with the cool IoT gadgets and solutions that our members are creating.

Discover Blue hit London for the third time in the UK. Eight of EMEA’s most innovative SIG member companies shared their innovations and spoke to the media about the exciting products they are bringing to market.

Member Companies Show Off at Discover Blue

Silvair, The Wand Company, See.Sense, Sensible Object, Ubudu, Lancaster University, PitPatPetand Swissprime Technologies all had an opportunity to give UK media and industry analysts a first-hand look at how Bluetooth is driving the IoT forward. From commercial smart lighting and mesh beacon solutions to more consumer-oriented board games, pet fitness trackers and cult sci-fi gadgets, every year we’re amazed by the sheer range of products that are developed with Bluetooth.

This year’s event was the perfect place to announce the launch of Bluetooth 5 and mark our 30,000thmember organization milestone. Both media and exhibitors alike were abuzz at the new capabilities that Bluetooth 5 will bring, all mentioning that the new specification will allow them to exceed their users’ expectations about what Bluetooth technology can achieve.
