My device came with a version 6 cd which does not work with 64-bit windows 7. I have tried downloading version 8 but it is asking me for a serial number. Please advise on how to make it work. This is getting extremely frustrating.

I cannot even install it much less activate or upgrade it. It just produces an error message while installing (error 183).
