More like robbing a costumers!!

With every peace of electronics equipment comes a CD with drivers and apss for the product

And as the time pass the productmakers find a ways to improve the performance of theyr product by improving its software

and the updated SOFTWARE is FREE EVERYWHERE for THE COSTUMERS.

At least it WAS till I bought this bluetooth dongle with OBVIOUSLY BUGGED APLICATION and the UPDATED VERSION IS PAYABLE???

A clean robbery I say!!!

I bought an Azio dongle with BlueSoleil 5. When I upgraded to Windows 7 x64, everything stopped working. I contacted Azio, who suggested the FREE upgrade to BlueSoleil 7. I didn't work until, per Azio instrucitons, I uninstalled all BlueTooth devices and drivers, rebooted, and reinstalled BS 7. NOW EVERYTHING WORKS BEAUTIFULLY.

I do have 2 complaints:

1. I would like to rename the devices. I switch back and forth between 2 identical BT headsets due to battery life. It would be great if I could name the devices so that I could tell them appart in the BS control panel.

2. Windows 7 has a known problem with audio level. Sometimes the volume is much louder than needed, but it is often not loud enough. This is not a BS problem, per se, but an audio equalizer, or some other control to boost the sound output would be a most appreciated feature for BS. I know it isn't my hardware because when I dual-boot over to Linux, I always have to turn the volume down and it is never inadequate.

In any event, thank you to BS for their great product and thank you to Azio for their great dongle and technical support.

As far as the licensing is concerned - the BS license is embedded in the Azio dongle firmeware, so BS is not useable without the Azio dongle. In a situation like that, it does seem to me strange that all of the hardware vendors that license BS wouldn't include upgrades -- after all, it only works with their device and when the customer upgrades, they're more likely to buy a device with BS if they liked using the BS software. To the extent that BS software included with a hardware device does not include free upgrades is short-sighted for both BS and for the hardware vendor.

I would likely upgrade to BS 8 if I could buy a version upgrade, but I'm not willing to pay 20.00Euros (the full price of a license) when I have a perfectly working BS 7 on my system.

I think I have to agree with chudoviste. My package clearly says that it's Win 7 compatible. but when I install it. nothing works until I download ver. 8 and then find out I have to pay for it... Not the most trustworthy business model.

You realize software developers actually NEED to eat. In order to make a new version with more features it takes lots of efforts.

Not sure what dongle you are talking about, i paid for these drivers and I'm happy i found them because on windows server there is no way to get any bluetooth device working, no matter the maker (i got 2 d-links dongles and one no-name - all work on windows 7 perfectly and none of them works on server 2008)
