With a short week leading up to the Thanksgiving Day game
against Washington

the Dallas Cowboys had a practice today. That means the first injury report is
out, and there is one player who has now been ruled out for the game.Geoff Swaim
has been the starter this season, taking the place of Jason Witten after his
retirement. He has been a solid contributor, though not at Witten’s level, of
course. He has been particularly valuable in the running game as a blocker. The
Cowboys will now have to figure out if they give the starting job to Blake
Jarwin, Rico Gathers, or Dalton Schultz in his absence. Jarwin would probably be
the logical choice. It looks like there is no plan to put Swaim on IR, so no
roster move is required at this time. Here is the full injury report:Note that
since this was just a walkthrough, the status is what the team projects the
players would have done if it was a full practice.Michael Gallup is with his
family following the death of his brother. While David Irving is still expected
to be out, the report of Taco Charlton and Daniel Ross being available on a
limited basis is somewhat encouraging for the defensive line situation, and
Antwaun Woods looks to be a go for the game. While Maliek Collins, Tyron Smith,
and Zack Martin are shown as limited for the report, the expectation is that
they will be able to take the field against Washington. This is the time of the
season when most NFL teams’ depth is tested, and having the short week does not
help.
