lol relax bud. i was equally frustrated when trying it for the first time.it's important you have a good dongle. i've had the most success with the cirago adapters. i also just ordered an azio btd v201 to test, which has really good reviews.
contact support, and if you paid for your software, i'm sure they will help you register it. Also, why not upgrade to v10? Maybe the newer version has better support for your device. I believe its a free upgrade. If not, bitch out support till they make it free, lol.
Also important: remove any drivers from older bluetooth installs from your PC.
