In-vehicle infotainment (IVI), the integrated in-car entertainment and information system, usually includes the following features:

Rear-seat entertainment (movies, games, TV, social networking, etc)

GPS Navigation

Radio/CD

Location-based services

Internal connectivity to mobile devices

External communicationsle codes, or DTCs, which allow one to rapidly identify and remedy malfunctions within the vehicle.

IVI is a hub of information and entertainment, which is capable of delivering satellite navigation, entertainment playback, wireless charging for smartphones or tablet PCs and networked computer functions. It is a true all-in-one entertainment unit, designed especially for in car use.

The next generation of telematics technology will integrate all existing features and functions into one cohesive system. Music, maintenance, safety and security, shopping and entertainment will all be combined and controlled through a Web interface. Your car will be fully networked.
